Doing so also jogged my muscle memory of what it's like to have two planks attached to my feet. It did me good because yesterday I was feeling on it! It could have been the "hero" snow, I say that only because while it is unique condition to ski in, it is also a little more forgiving as hip deep snow absorbs and holds you in place-unless you are really flailing.
Hanging back on my heels as much as my legs would allow, I tried to lead with my tips visible above the white. And then when I'd arrive at the line-up and ease my stance, my legs would quiver with delight. And I would grin at the beauty of it. Day number one of the season is in the books and I couldn't be happier.
I had to dedicate today to shoveling because the forecast calls for up to 26 inches by tomorrow again, and as I have come to learn, I can't wait for it to stop snowing to start clearing it away. If I did that, well, I'd be digging tunnels before hallways. Even though it's the weekend (I rarely head to the resorts on weekends because I have that luxury), I think given the circumstances and the company, that day number two starts tomorrow at 7AM. Wooooo-eee!
