Two On The Shore

The title is for Tischer and I being back on the shore of Lake Superior and stoked for adventure from our new home in Grand Marais, Minn. We are Two on The Shore.

You can find me at Lutsen Resort as their new Director of Activities & Recreation, a role that I am extremely excited about.

This winter is shaping up to be a busy one between some freelance writing opportunities, an adventure film to work on, and a stream skiing project I've undertaken with another buddy.

Also check out the kayak expedition I completed with a good friend in 2010 (www.superiordream.com).

A town with Soul

So here I am, sitting in my friend Scott and Jen's basement spare room on the south hills of Missoula. Midnight, I'm tired but enjoying the slightest of theraputic offerings that a six pack of good beer has to offer. Tomorrow it will be one week since I've been back. And what a week!

MisSOULa truley does have Soul, and well beyond just in the name. Even more, it does wonders for mine. Time to reflect, time to converse, and time to daydream. Equal parts for all. Being here, surrounded by the good energy of great people and the green (if only temperary) hills is doing wonders for me.

Tischer and I have spent most of this last week staying at the home of another couple of good friends, who find themselves in Idaho for work during the weeks. It is situated right near downtown, meaning I can bike everywhere for most anything. I haven't started the truck in 2 days until tonight. It feels so great to be able to ride to get around again!

Little T and I have run trails up Pattie Canyon and out at Blue Mountain, we've swam at Maclay Flats, hiked around Greenough Park up the Rattlesnake, and explored the dog park on Jacobs Island.

I have sprawled out at The Oval on campus at UM, used their library for internet purposes, and taken great pleasure in casually meandering around the neighborhoods. Cold beers at all the usual joints, sours on the back deck at the OPP for hours with Ash, and Ryan and I caught opening night in center field at the Osprey game on Tuesday.

With plenty left to tackle in the next week and a half, I'll have to update after each event has passed. And perhaps I'll get back to this post to offer up some jucier details on the things already to have occured.

The sweetest of dreams to all.
