Two On The Shore

The title is for Tischer and I being back on the shore of Lake Superior and stoked for adventure from our new home in Grand Marais, Minn. We are Two on The Shore.

You can find me at Lutsen Resort as their new Director of Activities & Recreation, a role that I am extremely excited about.

This winter is shaping up to be a busy one between some freelance writing opportunities, an adventure film to work on, and a stream skiing project I've undertaken with another buddy.

Cannonballs in Seattle

Westy and I paddle back into Lake Union in early June 2008. You can see the Space Needle on the Seattle skyline in the distance. Notice the swarm of sail boats occupying the lake ahead. They weren't there when we left the dock, but were in full swing when we returned. It appeared to be a pirate theme with black skull flags flying and beer sloshing on board. And then someone shot off a cannon.

He's not kidding. Someone seriously shot off a cannon. There were a lot of "ARRRRR's" flying about too. Later on we found out it was "Duck Dodge," a free-for-all regatta where sailboats rule the waves every Tuesday evening on Lake Union. We didn't let them rule us though.
